In order to get past a trauma, we need to forgive whoever is responsible. It is much easier said than done but is absolutely essential if we want to move on in life. Unless you have experienced trauma yourself and done The Work, you will not really understand what is required to fully complete the process of forgiveness. We may get to a point when we know that we can no longer suppress our thoughts and emotions and that we need to face that which we have tucked into a safe place in our mind and heart and prefer not to talk about.

Holding onto anger literally eats you up from the inside. Anger releases acid which can have serious health implication. Processing a trauma is very individual. Psychologist research shows that the greatest factor is the persons back ground. Two people can experience the same event and be affected very differently. Therefore we need to be vigilant of self-judgement or comparing ourselves to others who have also experienced trauma. The only common factor is the relief and the freedom to live again.

Forgiveness can serve as a powerful release you as you can let go and change your thoughts about and of the person who wronged you, without condoning the actions.

Too often people feel pressured to forgive and then end up believing that something’s wrong with them if they can’t quite get there and that they aren’t strong enough or compassionate enough. This will only compact the trauma into a deeper level. There is no ‘one size fits all’, it is a personal and unique journey.

Life Coaching is a talk therapy with a practical outcome approach. Gaining perspective about who we are because of what we have experienced in life is liberating. It takes courage to do The Work on yourself. It is not a sign of weakness, instead it shows strength of character.

Life coaching is a practical outcome talk therapy.
