ACCEPTANCE SURRENDER HARMONY

Surrender (Part 1)

Continuing from the process of Acceptance…. the next step is understanding what Surrender means. It is a personal journey and each one is unique. Only you will know when you have stepped into and embraced Surrendering.

It sounds like ‘giving up’ but it really is the opposite. The feeling of Surrender starts to flow in once Acceptance (my reality) has integrated into our thoughts and feelings about what we are dealing with. In that space, when we realize that we no longer deny nor resist the reality Surrender starts unfolding.

Surrender may feel like allowing the giant curtain of protection that we had drawn around us to hide from the world, fall to the ground. Surrender is LETTING GO!

Our thoughts quieten down and we no longer ask the painful WHY? Or ‘what did I do to deserve this’ or ‘why me’? We can start allowing the painful event to fuse into our physical and mental and emotional self so that it simply becomes a part of who I am now.

Surrender/letting go does not weaken who you are and it does not impact on your worth as a person. Surrender means I accept what has happened to me and who I have become because of it and that I do not need to suffer for the rest of my life. This is MY life story. It is part of who I am now, but it does DEFINE who I am.

Eventually we will recognize that surrender strengthens who you are a person as you find self-acceptance, self-worth and self-respect and discover more of who you really are as a person. You are a survivor!
