AEEPTANCE SURRENDER HARMONY
Surrender (Part 2)
The ‘work’ of surrendering is the process of allowing all the parts of my pain, like pieces of a jig saw puzzle, to fit into place, revealing the full picture. Each thought and each feeling related to my experience must be allowed to be there and to be part of my new reality.
Looking at each piece, each part with empathy and kindness towards myself and what I have experienced and been through, in pain and suffering. Acknowledge and identify with the memories and the turmoil that you have experienced. It is real and it happened.
We will need to gather our strength and courage to recognize that we have resilience and coping skills. You did not do anything to deserve what happened to you. It belongs in the file of the unexplained called Life and brings with it the questions that torture us – WHY? I personally believe that when we cross the rainbow bridge to our home in the hereafter we will be given the understanding of the WHY. I also believe that life is a great leveler and those who have done harm to others will suffer in equal proportion in their own lives and in that it facilitates Surrender. It is not up to us to make it ‘right’ or to seek revenge or justice. Our responsibility is to walk our path of healing and self-care.
Bitterness will harm your physical health and your mental health. Victim mentality makes you smaller as a person and means you pay yet another price when you have already suffered enough. Suppressing or avoiding is simply not possible. Pain will catch up and show up in your life and sabotage any chance of happiness.
Surrender means letting go after Acceptance of your new reality – facing my Truth. We can’t change our past but we can change the feelings that torture us and the triggers that control our life. It requires forgiveness (not condoning) which sets us free! Talk to a mental health professional so that you can gain new perspective and awareness. Dig deep and find the courage.
