Agree to Disagree

The ongoing debate (radical opinions) regarding this Covid Virus and the Vaccine is driving me around the bend! Who knows for sure? Reading and listening to the experts has become confusing and a lot of it is fear mongering, yet a lot of it sounds sensible.
I implore each one of you to embrace the lesson of this giant debate and respect each other’s choices. We live in a chaotic and volatile country/world and really do not need more conflict.
We all have the privilege to do our own research and then make our own choices regarding the well-being of ourselves, physically, mentally and spiritually and then take the responsibility for that choice.
This conflict of opinions/convictions has cost friendships and caused rifts in families.
Ask yourself today, what is going on within you and your own close circle that drives the behaviour of anger and conflict. What is it that you learnt in your developmental years that taught you that it is important to always be right? Why do you feel the need to bully/bash those who have a different point of view?
Perhaps you are on the receiving end and the ‘victim’ of angry behaviour from a friend/colleague/partner or family member. We have never been in this uncertain situation before – anger usually masks fear – there are so many triggers everywhere – and most of us do not have the tools to deal with it or make sense of it.
Seeking help is not failure. It takes courage to trust a person to help you gain insight into your life. When we are ‘stuck’ in bad habits or damaging behaviour we often feel lonely and ashamed. Changing negative, self-sabotaging behaviour from your past is possible. It takes commitment and effort but is certainly worth it. Invest in yourself – get ‘unstuck’.
