Recently I have been debating the big questions yet again. Do we give up on this country and abandon ship? Yes, we are privileged to have options of living in the Swedish long, dark, wet, snowy winters and summers with sometimes the odd blue sky day….. I love this country, I love its people, I have African blood running through my veins. I choose hope. I choose to stay.

My husband was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2011. The stress and anxiety with the mind ghosts of the annual ‘check-up’ is unavoidable. This week the Oncologist really threw the book at it and the results are all good. Hearing that there is nothing to be concerned about, brought waves of relief and gratitude and a reminder of how much depends on what we choose to focus on. FINDING INSPIRATION TO SEE THE REASON FOR JOY BY SIMPLY BEING ALIVE AND HEALTHY ENOUGH TO APPRECIATE AND LIVE LIFE!!

I came across this excerpts of a letter Rudolf Nureyev wrote to the dance community about his own life as a dancer, while dying of AIDS:

“Every man should dance, for life. Not being a dancer, but dancing.”

“Who will never know the pleasure of walking into a hall with wooden bars and mirrors, who stops because they don't get results, who always needs stimulus to love or live, hasn't entered the

depths of life, and will abandon every time life won't give him what he wants.”

“It's the law of love: you love because you feel the need to do it, not to get something or to be reciprocated, otherwise you're destined for unhappiness.”

Your brain is like a detective. It’s always looking for the evidence. It needs to confirm its perspective. If you feel you lack something, or are not enough, it will go on a hunt to prove you right. Awareness breaks this cycle. That is why the most powerful question you can ask yourself is: What evidence is my brain currently looking for and why is it looking for that evidence? - Dhru Purohit
