Embracing Winter

This time of year on the Highveld can be really beautiful. The days are milder and the light takes on a softer glow with the winter cobalt blue sky.

Some of us may be privileged of growing old together with spouses or partners. Be sure to work through what you need to in order to reach a place of peace with each other, find acceptance before the Winter Freeze sets in. This is vital to growing old gracefully.

Letting go of the less than perfect aspects and instead remembering all the wonderful times, the achievements and the blessings that your life did bring. Tell each other, what you DO appreciate and cherish, and affirm that given the choice, you would do it all again!

As with the cycles of nature, the cycle of life brings a time to reflect, forgive and let go. Finishing old business so to speak, clearing, cleaning and preparing the soil to sow new seeds in time for spring time and new growth.

I am reminded of a book ‘Cross Roads’ (The Shack) by Paul Young. The symbolism of our ‘inner garden landscape’ that we create in our life time really struck me. Through life experiences we form what we believe is the TRUTH. It may actually not be The Truth, but we believe this to be true. Be sure to bring peace into yours before it is too late.

Winter is an opportunity to look within and clean up, make order (forgive) and do a little bit of landscaping work.

Life Coaching is a talk therapy with a practical outcome approach. Gaining perspective about who we are because of where we come from, is liberating. Neuro-Linguistics presents us with choices to change that which negatively impacts our life. It takes courage to do the work on yourself. It is not a sign of weakness, instead it shows strength of character.
