The word trauma (shock) is certainly applicable to so many situations and experiences, especially in recent time. Everyone has been touched by the loss of a loved one or a person close to them, COVID related. The inability to grasp that a person is no longer with us is a tough process.
Not only COVID related, but traumatic loss has affected each one of us. The recent tragedy of baby Isabella touched the entire community. In my own family the month of October carries many anniversaries of tragedy, now four year ago.
Trauma catches up with you eventually – often with physiological symptoms that escalate if ignored.
Elizabeth Kubler Ross was a pioneer in the field of grief and loss. This is the modality I work with to support and assist individuals to process the trauma through the steps, so that eventually acceptance can be reached. This is a place where we learn to live alongside our loss and no longer drown in the grief.
May you find the courage to do face your loss and work through the grief so that you can embrace the memories and live again.
