ACCEPTANCE SURRENDER HARMONY
Harmony
As we work through the steps of Acceptance and Surrender the outcome we want to achieve is Harmony. Letting go of each thought and emotion related to our suffering is like taking a deep breath in and exhaling slowly while consciously choosing to let go.
We need to be willing to feel the pain that stems from loss or traumatic events. The only way is to acknowledge what you are feeling even though it may be very uncomfortable. This is the path to connecting to the inner self without judgment. We don’t need to analyze or be able to make sense of the feelings, we simply need to allow the feelings to be there. The concept of ‘what we resist, persists’ is how we will be able to move through and release our emotions instead of suppressing. There is no right or wrong way, only your way. Feelings are our yard stick of that which is within our suffering that requires our urgent attention.
The reward is Harmony unfolding within. Being at Peace. We are not denying what happened or condoning, we are allowing our pain to integrate, which is the path to healing.
If you pick a green olive from a tree, eating it will be bitter and inedible. Keeping our basket full of green olives simply stays a harvest of bitterness. However, if we follow the process of pickling these hard olives (acceptance and surrender) the olives slowly change into a delectable delicacy – Harmony.
Time does not heal all wounds. A professional therapist can help you to do the inner work and learn new life skills and perspective. It requires commitment and courage to make that first appointment. We all have a story and life happens to all of us. You are not alone. You are not weak. There is nothing wrong with you. You deserve to be loved. The question is: do you love you?
