It is the WHY

When we are young, we tend to view life as a beginning, middle and then some kind of resolution in the end. But somewhere along the way – perhaps in the middle – we realize that everyone lives with things that may never actually ‘get worked out’. The middle has to be the resolution, and that this is how we make our individual meaning of life. Perhaps here lays the task of coming into ourselves and the work of self-development into emotional maturity. Becoming comfortably in our own skin.

Through the eyes of a terminally ill person the clarity of time slipping away like the grains in an hour glass becomes real. Facing finite time brings life into sharp focus.

It is WHY we no longer procrastinate.

It is WHY we address what we need to resolve.

It is WHY we appreciate what we take for granted.

Time is an illusion – Today is real – Now is a certainty.

“Now I keep in mind that none of us can love and be loved without the possibility of loss but that there is a difference between knowledge and terror” – Lori Gottlieb

Integrity is the seed of self-respect – be the person you would have wanted to have as a parent - face what you need to in order to feel happy to be alive.

Seeking help is not a weakness. It takes courage and strength of character. Often the situation seems much worse in the effort it takes to avoid that which eventually will break your spirit and rob you of all possibilities to feel anything.
