landscape of potholes

“We nearly died!” was what we kept repeating this day. Pouring rain – yet the level of irresponsible individuals still drive the same speed and disregard traffic lights not working due to power outages – a near miss in what could have been a multiple vehicle collision and loss of life.

During a downpour of rain, at the traffic light (supposed to be a 4 –way stop during power outage) intersection at Mc Donald’s, a grey Mercedes (?) bus flew straight across. My daughter physically pulled to the left and shouted – I slammed on brakes – miraculously all vehicles managed to avoid each other and everyone resumed positions and carried on ….. same speed…. same impatience and disregard to others.

Driving must be the highest risk we take every day – getting from point A to B.

We have a choice in our life view and in our life attitude to drive on either side of the road of life – the one we are supposed to be on or the one we feel entitled to. Do we focus on the rear view mirror and stay with the past as a victim? Do you see your life as a road in the province of Mpumalanga awarded the province with the most potholes that we need to navigate the best we can.

What you may think is a ‘less than you deserve life’ – is another person’s dream life! Gratitude is the answer to uplifting your spirit when life gets heavy and the craters in the road grow wider and deeper.

ALL TRUCK OWNERS SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ROAD MAINTENANCE?? WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE – MANY SIT IN HIGH AND POWER POSITIONS – SHAME ON YOU!! GREEDY SELF ENRICHING ENTITLED GRAVY BLUE TRAIN PASSENGERS as your voters children go hungry – I wonder what the equal payback will be? As they say: “Life is a great leveller teacher”
