The Light Bulb Moment

In the midst of all your fears, pain and sadness, you stop dead in your tracks and somewhere the voice inside your head cries out - ENOUGH! Enough fighting and crying and struggling! A new understanding may start unfolding and everything makes sense again. We are able to perceive the ‘big picture’ and understand that it is not all about me.
Some call it GROWING UP – some go through their entire lives and never GET it – and some get stuck along the way.
When you realize it's time to stop hoping and waiting for something or someone to change … or for happiness, safety and security to come galloping over the next horizon.
When you come to terms with the fact that neither one of you is Prince Charming nor Cinderella and that in the real world there aren't always fairy tale endings (or beginnings for that matter). The "happily ever after" ultimately depends on you … and in that process a sense of SERENITY is born called ACCEPTANCE.
You finally accept the fact that you do not need to be perfect and that not everyone will always love, appreciate or approve of who or what you are … and that's OK.
You learn to open up to new worlds and different points of view. You begin reassessing and redefining who you are and what you really stand for. You learn the difference between WANTING and NEEDING and you begin to discard the doctrines and values you've outgrown, or should never have bought into to begin with … and learn to trust your own instincts and inner knowing.
I believe the greatest “glow’ comes from learning about love. How to love, and even more challenging ALLOWING and accepting LOVE. Look at relationships as they really are and not as you would like/expect them to be.
You stop trying to control people, situations and outcomes. “Let Go and Let God”.
If we know that we are loved by God, then we can learn to love ourselves and only then can we truly love and be loved.
“To realize the unlimited love we hold within is like finding hidden treasure!”
