The Peace Dove

On the Highveld we have a multitude of doves – all day long we hear their sounds and their love songs. "Koer-Koer...Koer-Koer"...The Dove is a symbol of peace – the only space unconditional love can exist and flourish.

Our fruition of the adult LOVE experience (and therefore our belief what love is) typically reveals itself around a significant other. Our real ‘teachers’ and the construction of this foundation of basic worthiness and questioning if we are deserving of love, comes from the grounding belief instilled by our parents/primary care givers.

The level of neglect and abuse by immature or damaged adults fumbling through parenting is a phenomena of epidemic proportion world-wide. It presents in almost all my clients on some level as this ‘injury’ is carried through life and will cripple us emotionally unless we ‘free’ ourselves by doing the work. Breaking the cycle of dysfunction is our own responsibility.

The unconditional love hierarchy needs to be built on a solid and unquestioning foundation. Our faith and belief that we are created perfectly. There are no mistakes.

The Teachings of Creation have many common links across the spectrum of religions. The human race would be in a much better place if we can see similarities instead of the conflict created by righteous groupings. How many atrocities have been committed in the Name of, over time?

We are created in Love. The childlike faith that I am created perfectly and that I am loved, without conditions by God, is the purest form of unconditional Love. As such, I do not need another person to validate that I am worthy of love. I do not have to earn love and I do not have to deserve love - I AM LOVE.

On this ROCK of Love we can begin to know ourselves, so that we can love and accept our authentic self (a life time endeavour that we need to work on every day).

Only then will I have the capacity to love another person without a check list or ‘trading’ for love.

THEN only will I have the trust to become vulnerable enough and be willing to risk getting hurt by showing all of who I am. It is in this space that we can receive the love that we so desperately search for.

May Peace fill you up in the certainty that you are already loved unconditionally by the Creator of the Universe and everything and everyone in it.
