My saving Grace in 2011 came with the opportunity to write a weekly column for a local newspaper. In the beginning, I agonized over each written piece in fear of judgement…these days, not so much. It may not always be grammatically or otherwise perfect but it’s a question of time invested in expressing that which comes from my current state of heart.
A teacher in High School (70’s) recognized a semblance of writing talent in me. One day when handing back our essays, she said that she looks forward to read my book someday. It was my privileged to send her a copy of my self-published book (2014), which was a collection of the pieces I wrote for the local newspaper then. I sent her a copy and was told that she read it with delight and sent words of appreciation weeks before her passing.
My heart is still a maze of life experiences, current challenges and unexplainable origins of emotions with glimpses of obvious truths for me. The teacher in all this is the ability to stay in a constant state of curiosity and search. Without that, the person I am would cease to exist.
The pursuit of who we really are and who we want to be and the choices that are before us is fluid - like a river flowing - always forward.
Thank you to each person who reads my words (my truth) and thoughts – it is an act of service to my community – yet also a gift to myself, as words create order in my mind and help me find some parts of the etymology of my heart. (the origin and meaning of words)

My best wishes to you all for this festive season. Be safe. Appreciate your family despite your differences. May you have a peaceful ‘Rutsch’ into 2023.
